What is GEO (Generative Engine Optimization)?
GEO is the practice of structuring web content so generative AI engines (including ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews) can find it, understand it, and quote it inside a generated answer. Where SEO earns a ranking, GEO earns a citation.
What is AEO (Answer Engine Optimization)?
AEO is the practice of writing content that answers one specific question directly, so it can be lifted whole into a featured snippet, a People Also Ask box, or a voice assistant reply. It rewards short, self-contained answers over long exploratory prose.
Which AI engines does Klimb track?
Klimb tracks brand citations across four engines: ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity and Google’s AI Overviews. Each engine gets the same prompt set, sampled across multiple runs, so you see a citation rate rather than a single snapshot. AI answers vary run to run, so one run is noise.
How is Klimb different from Semrush and Ahrefs?
Semrush and Ahrefs are built around keyword rankings and backlink data, with AI features on top of that older core. Klimb is built the other way around: it tracks whether AI engines cite you by name, writes the fix, and proves the result inside your own GA4 and Search Console. They remain excellent at keyword and backlink depth, a different job.
How does Klimb connect to GA4 and Search Console?
Klimb connects read-only to your own Google Analytics 4 and Search Console through Google’s OAuth. Every citation, published page and fix traces back to real sessions and queries in your own data, never a third-party estimate. This is the step every competing AI-visibility tool skips.
Do you use llms.txt or schema to get us cited by AI?
No. AI engines extract visible HTML, so llms.txt does not win citations and schema is not a citation lever. Schema still helps with Google rich results, which is separate hygiene. What earns citations is answer-first content in server-rendered HTML, plus accurate mentions on the third-party pages engines already trust.
